Language
If your child is a “late talker”, displays behavioral problems associated with their difficulty talking, has difficulty communicating due to autism, or seems to struggle to understand what is said to them, we would love to help your child grow using evidence-based strategies rooted in fun and play.
Specialties
Speech sounds
If others have difficulty understanding your child’s speech due to an inability to produce different speech sounds, let us help. We can address a variety of different types of speech sound errors and disorders of all severity levels.
AAC
If your child struggles to communicate clearly using speech, high-tech AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) might be helpful for your family. Use of AAC does not hinder speech and language development, but can actually help a child’s ability to grow and communicate more quickly and clearly!
Gestalt language processing
GLP is an alternate method by which a child can learn language. A child may memorize and use chunks of language before breaking it down into single words to build unique phrases and sentences. You may hear people call this “scripting”. If you believe your child is a gestalt language processor, let us help them learn while equipping your family with strategies to help communication at home.
Child development
If you have concerns about your child being delayed in their achievement of developmental milestones related to communication (e.g., play, engagement and interaction with others, behavior), we would love to discuss what typical development looks like and how to help your child expand their skills.
caregiver coaching
We firmly believe that, with a little help, caregivers can become the best speech therapists! After all, you know your child better than anyone. Let us empower you to teach your child by actively including you in treatment and arming you with research-based strategies to use at home.
